This is the worst of the damage I got from the reef on Molokai. Not bad at all, just scratches really. The boat is sitting on a carpet covered 4×4, that gives you something for scale.

On a normal 14 foot boat the sides and probably bottom would have been 1/4 inch ply. Most likely my trip would have been over right then and there.

On a boat with normal bottom paint I would have to grind off the bottom paint, shower, fill and fair the damaged areas, wet sand and repaint with bottom paint.

With this system I sand the damaged areas to scuff them up a bit. Mix and paint on the copper and epoxy. Smooth with the brush and maybe put on 2 or 3 coats to smooth out the deeper scratches. I like this system more and more all the time.
